Our Team
Hi! I’m Nikki McGee, founder and Executive Director of Elevavted Mountain Guides. I’ve spent the past 18 years finding and sharing my love of the outdoors. I started my professional journey back home in Minnesota working in the climbing department for REI. In 2006, the day I graduated college, I decided I needed to go somewhere new and got a 4-month transfer to the Sandy, UT branch. Clearly, the mountains stole my heart and I’ve lived in Utah ever since. Over the past 16 years, I’ve worked in experiential education; and taught yoga, snowboarding, and wilderness medicine in Peru through our first Elevated Mountain Guides program. Besides my work with Elevated Mountain Guides, I am also a full-time fly fishing guide and personal trainer for rock climbers at Momentum Indoor Climbing. Certifications: WFR/CPR, CFR (Clinical First Responder), AIARE 1, 200 RYT, Safe Sport, and NASM CPT.
Hi, my name is Ray, and I am the Deputy Director at Elevated Mountain Guides. I grew up in upstate New York, backpacking and canoeing in the Adirondacks. I served in an AmeriCorps program where I managed volunteers in areas affected by natural disasters and did conservation work. Then I studied outdoor education in the Expeditionary Studies Program at SUNY Plattsburgh, where I gained experience taking college students out climbing, kayaking, and skiing. I spent a year and a half rock guiding in Vietnam and kayak guiding in Scotland. Since returning to the states, I have focused on supporting people through their learning process in the outdoors. I worked as a field guide and an adventure programming specialist for Elements, a wilderness therapy program, for four years. I am currently a graduate student at Westminsters in the mental health counseling program. I am passionate about finding ways to use adventure sports for therapeutic value. I am an American Moutain Guide Association Single Pitch Instructor and a Wilderness First Responder. I have been a rock climbing guide for 7 years and am excited about increasing the accessibility to adventure sports.
Hello, My name is Eric, and I’m excited to be working with Elevated Mountain Guides! I’m originally from New Mexico and have been climbing for almost my whole life. I’m currently getting a degree in biochemistry from the University of Utah and have been infinitely psyched about all the amazing opportunities to backcountry ski and rock climb in Utah. I have previously worked in therapeutic outdoor programs and volunteered with many local nonprofits centered around the Wasatch. I was drawn to Elevated Mountain Guides because of its mission to provide marginalized populations with access to outdoor sports. I deeply understand the importance of having outlets for one’s mental health and happiness; for me, it has always been climbing, running, or skiing. Beyond Elevated Mountain Guides, I also work as an EMT at a couple of clinics and, in the long-term, pursuing a degree in medicine. I am also in the process of getting my American Moutain Guide Association Single Pitch Instructor Certification and am excited to be a part of the team!
Meet the Rest of the EMG Board

Jillian Plummer
Board President
Jillian is a fellow climber and outdoor enthusiast who first found out about the work EMG was doing around a campfire 3 years ago. After a couple of years of volunteering and organizing events, she decided her impact would be best felt as a member of the board. She hopes to grow and support the community involvement that EMG strives for each year, and see more and more kids on the wall gaining self-confidence and useful life skills.
